POLICY OF THE ACCELERATED PLAN AND MINIMUM DURATION OF THE MAIS PROGRAM

Purpose  

The purpose of this policy is to define the accelerated study plan and the minimum duration of the MA in Islamic Studies degree program at the Islamic Online University.

Policy Statement

Under the new curriculum of MAIS program* accelerated study plan for the MA in Islamic Studies degree program, students are now allowed to enroll into up to nine courses in the first semester and up to seven courses in the second semester including Thesis Preparation and Research course, THS 501. Students opting for accelerated plan will be therefore able to complete the full master’s degree program in 1.5 years.

Hence, the minimum duration of the MAIS degree program is hereby defined as 3 semesters or 1.5 years.

The Accelerated plan:

Semester 1: 9 courses

Semester 2: 6 Courses + Thesis Preparation (Thesis 501)

Fees Structure

Students taking seven to nine courses are obliged to pay the applicable fees for the semester, which are equivalent to fees for one semester plus 50%, depending on their country of residence. The fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Benefits of the Policy

Students who are capable of devoting more time toward their studies and who wish to complete the MAIS degree in less than two years will benefit from this policy as this will allow them to complete the degree in 1.5 years.
