Master of Arts in Arabic Language Studies Research Admission Test Policy applies to:
- MA in Arabic (Research ) Applicants (who do not have a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and linguistics or did not study undergraduate level studies in Arabic medium)
Eligibility criteria to sit for the Admission Test
- An accredited Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Studies or a relevant Honour’s degree or a relevant postgraduate certificate or diploma with less than 65% marks.;
- An accredited Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline other than Arabic Language and Linguistics, where the medium of instruction was not Arabic.
Exam Structure:
The Admission Test will be fully online.
Passing Grades Table:

55% and Above | Students are eligible to enroll into the MA in Arabic program. |
50-54% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic (Research ) Program the student must study ARB 401 and ARB 402 courses at the IOU |
45-49% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic (Research) Program the student must study ARB 301, ARB 302, ARB 401 and ARB 402 courses at the IOU |
40-44% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic (Research) Program the student must study ARB 201, ARB 202, ARB 301, ARB 302, ARB 401 and ARB 402 courses at the IOU |
39% & below | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic (Research) Program, student has to enroll in Bridge to MA in Arabic program at the IOU |
