The Board of Directors of Jamaat Ibad Ar-Rahman (JIAR), Durham, has appointed Sh Abdenasser Zouhri as its Imam to lead the community in fulfilling its spiritual and social needs. 

A resident of greater Durham since 1989, Sh Abdenasser is well-known in the area as a religious leader and mentor who has served the Muslim community as an Imam since 1993.

Sh Abdenasser Zouhri has a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and he also has a BA and an MA in Islamic Studies from the Islamic Online University (now known as the International Open University).

He is a founding member of the Carolina Islamic Council (CIC) and has delivered numerous lectures in many Masajid in North Carolina and South Carolina.
