Overview

The Bridge to Master’s in Arabic Language Studies (BMA ALS) is an admission pathway to a master’s degree in Arabic Language Studies. It comprises a specialized curriculum derived from the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language Studies (BA ALS). Designed for students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in Arabic Language Studies, the BMA ALS provides a solid linguistic foundation for those without a prior formal study background in this subject. Successful completion will allow students to easily transition into the master’s program without the need to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language Studies (BA ALS).

Entry Requirements

To qualify for admission into the BMA ALS Program, candidates must hold an undergraduate degree or its equivalent in a field other than Arabic.

Candidates must have near-native competency in Arabic with the ability to read and write in Arabic academically.

Candidates will have to pass an Arabic proficiency test to qualify for admission.

Program Structure and Duration

The duration of the BMA ALS is one and a half years, divided into three semesters. Students have a maximum of three years to complete the program on a full-time basis.

Please be aware that the Bridge to Master’s in Arabic Language Studies (BMA ALS) is not a formal academic qualification from IOU. It is specifically designed to prepare students for the MA ALS program and is valid only for this intended purpose. All prescribed courses or modules will be studied for non-degree purposes (NDP).
