Dr. Muhammad Salama obtained his BA, MA and PhD (2012) in Islamic Studies from al-Azhar University. He started his academic career as an assistant professor at Al-Madinah International University (Malaysia) where he taught a variety of Islamic subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has acted as a supervisor and examiner for tens of academic theses. In 2017 he was promoted to associate professor. He is also an academic referee for a number of international academic journals across the globe.
Dr. Salama joined IOU in 2016 as a lecturer and a supervisor in MAIS program and is also a member of the Research and Ethics Committee. Dr Salama is currently the Head of Islamic Studies Department and also a member of the IOU Academic Senate.
