Prof. Dr. Cherno Omar Barry, IOU Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction that the 5th IOUCRIS conference has drawn the attention of academics and researchers from around the world, in addition to receiving quality paper submissions from IOU students. He noted that in addition to paper presentations, the conference features keynote sessions and a Research Colloquium which are a great opportunity to learn from the scholars. This is in keeping with the IOU vision that combines quality education with morality at an affordable cost with exposure to international academicians and self-paced study, to gain qualifications that strengthen students' employability skills.

The IOU is committed to research excellence by facilitating research, providing research training, allocating funds, and publishing scholarly journals through the Directorate of Research and Publications (DRP) which is also responsible for organizing the IOUCRIS conferences.
