IOU Founder-Chancellor Prof Dr Bilal Philips was invited as chief guest at a convention of around 500 scholars on 29 June, 2025, at Idaratul Islah (Quran college).

Present on the occasion were Qari Sohaib Meer Muhammadi (Head of Idaratul Islah), Sh. Yaseen Zafar (Head Wifaq ul Madaris Salafia), Hafiz Masood Alam, Hafiz Shareef, Sh. Irshad Ul Haq Athari and various other major scholars.

Dr Bilal Philips gave a talk at the convention, presented Qari Sohaib Meer Muhammadi with an award and appointed him chief advisor for IOU-Urdu.
