The International Open University (IOU) announces its recruitment of a part-time Lecturer for the B Sc. Psychology program in the following areas of specialization:

1. Work and Organizational Psychology

2. Islamic Psychology and Psychotherapy

3. Psychological Testing and Assessment

4. Psychological Interventions

POSITION SUMMARY The Lecturer is responsible for providing a high-quality teaching and learning experience to students and for making ongoing contributions to the academic mission of IOU.

POSITION DETAILS

PERSON SPECIFICATION

(1) Qualification

● Must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in the relevant field

● A PhD in the field will be preferred

(2) Experience

● Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the relevant field

(3) Personality & Skills

● Strong knowledge of the subject area

● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

● Enthusiasm for continued improvement of teaching skills

● Aptitude for teaching

● Awareness of educational technologies including online pedagogical delivery

● Ability to work collaboratively

● Ability to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of diverse groups

JOB PROFILE AND DUTIES

● Prepare and deliver online live lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars

● Carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives

● Engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities

● Provide support to students and other colleagues

● Supervise students' thesis and research activities

● Contribute to the developing, planning, and implementing a high-quality curriculum

● Assist in the development of the learning/instructional materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance

● Participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department

● Participate in the developing, administering, and marking of exams and other assessments

● Participate in the administrating of the department’s programs of study and other activities as requested

● Actively follow and promote IOU policies and programs

● Carry out any other activities that may be assigned by the HO
