The IOU Copperbelt province team received IOU VC Dr. Cherno Omar Barry in Kitwe on 11 October, 2021. 

The IOU team proceeded to pay courtesy calls to the residences of the late Mufti of Zambia, Shaykh Siddique Kaputula, may Allah have mercy upon him.  Shaykh Siddique was a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah from the faculty of Qur'an and an  eminent da'iyah and teacher of various Islamic sciences . He pioneered the IOU cause in Zambia and offered the use of a library as an IOU exam centre, which the current personnel manning the centre want to maintain, as per Shaykh Siddique’s desire.
