Dr. Francesca Bocca-Aldaqre, Associate Professor and Head of Department (Psychology) at the International Open University delivered the keynote speech II at the International E-Conference on Research in Education and Leadership (IeCOREL 2021) organized by the Department of Education at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore Pakistan on Dec. 15-16, 2021.
Dr. Francesca Bocca-Aldaqre's keynote speech was on the topic: "Digital adaptation of the educational system in Italy following Covid-19".
The Covid-19 pandemic forced the Italian educational system to turn towards online learning within the span of a few weeks. Although schools from Grade One to University managed to resume classes in less than a week after the first lockdown was imposed, standardized tests showed that learning was impaired in the lower grades in the school year 2019/2020, while at the university level the same standards were maintained. The talk also discussed possible reasons and future paths for digital adaptation in Italy and beyond.
