A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) and the Islamic Online University (IOU) has been signed on April 25, 2015.

This MOU affirms and recognizes the importance of the academic interchange between universities, and strengthens and encourages communication and collaboration between members of the two institutions. This MOU also promotes collaboration in research and formation of research linkage and groups with particular reference to the work of graduate students in both institutions. Furthermore, this understanding will facilitate the exchange of experience in designing new programs and identifying faculty members for short-term or long-term teaching assignments. Under this MOU, both institutions will provide financial support to a specific number of deserving students in the form of teaching and research scholarship or other stipends appropriate and available.
