2025-02-11 05:27:42

In a major development, the International Open University (IOU) has received approval from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to establish a UNESCO Chair or UNITWIN Network at IOU.

The IOU will co-host the UNESCO Chair on Teacher Training, Digital Learning and Assessment and join over 1000 other chairs worldwide.

The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Program mobilizes the expertise of higher education and research institutions to address the interdependent challenges of today’s increasingly complex world. It was established in 1992 with the vision to advance an integrated system of research, training and activities in diverse fields by building university networks and encouraging inter-university cooperation through the transfer of knowledge and expertise across borders.
