Pic : Sedia Kebbeh, second semester IOU student studying in the IOU Hybrid BEd program and a dedicated educator at Soma Upper and Senior Secondary School in the Lower River Region (Region Four), The Gambia, has been named the national winner of the 3rd edition of the Namie Foundation’s Gambia Teacher Prize 2026. He was presented with a D100,000 token.

The prestigious award, which celebrates excellence, creativity, and impact in teaching, was presented to Kebbeh by Vice President H.E. Mohammed B.S. Jallow and Dr. Habibatou Drammeh, Minister for Basic and Secondary Education.

Organized by the Namie Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the prize highlights teachers who shape young minds and strengthen communities.
