The International Open University (IOU) Governing Board Members received an invitation from the Association of African Universities (AAU) Secretary-General, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, to join the 2025 Africa Universities’ Day Celebration, taking place from 10th to 14th November 2025, under the theme: “The Future of Learning in Africa: Technology, Innovation, Skills, and Inclusive Growth.”

The celebration officially opened on Monday, 10th November 2025, with a High-Level Symposium featuring remarks from the AAU Secretary-General, a Keynote Address by the AAU President, Professor Kenneth Kamwi Matengu, and a panel discussion involving representatives from the five African regions of the AAU Governing Board.
