Pic: The IOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Makie Taal and Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad visited the IOU Exam Center located at Lekki, Lagos on 28 August, 2026. The exam center with modest facilities is managed by Br. Murtoda.

During the visit, over 100 students (male and female) welcomed the senior management. The session was full with activities mainly from the students, followed by special talks by the IOU VC and DVC (Academics). Updates were given on the purpose of the visit to Nigeria particularly to ensure full recognition of all IOU Qualifications by the Nigerian regulator. The meeting ended with a Question and Answer session where students expressed their satisfaction over the visit and the progress IOU is recording globally.

Late evening, the IOU VC and DVC received the Representative of Marble Capital Mr. Mustaqeem. They discussed about the proposed IOU Waqf and the assignment given to them and promised to respond as soon as possible.

In the same vein, the Vice Chancellor and his deputy on 29th August, 2026 through the excellent coordination of Dr. Imam Abdullahi Shuaib, a close associate of Prof. Aliyu, visited the Lekki Muslim Central Mosque where the Chief Imam welcomed the visitors. He extended his hand of partnership to IOU and showed them a beautiful learning center where IOU students write their examinations.
The VC and DVC also visited the University of Lagos where they met with Prof. Ismail Ibrahim, former Director International Affairs of the University. He informed the delegates that arrangements were on top gear to visit The Gambia for institutional collaborations and he promised the IOU would be given special attention. The Vice Chancellor thanked him for hosting them.
Finally, the delegates held a meeting with the Bureau of Islamic Education at Ikoyi. The Chairman of the Bureau Alh. Tijjani Borodo who flew in from another state to meet with the IOU delegation expressed his delight over the visit and demonstrated willingness to collaborate with the University.
