The IOU Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad successfully intervened on a former IOU student securing admission at Bayero University Kano (BUK) on September, 2026.

The candidate Abdul Wahab graduated from the International Open University IEBF stream in 2021. The issue was due to non-acceptance of his transcript by the Center for Postgraduate Studies of BUK as it was computer generated, neither signed nor stamped. The candidate contacted the IOU DVC based on the advice of the IOU center manager in Lagos. Recall that in their visit at Lekki IOU Center, the DVC offered himself for any support required by IOU Alumni with regard to admission in Nigeria universities. The IOU DVC (Academics) immediately responded and went to meet with the student at BUK and engaged the admission officers where the matter was resolved.
The IOU DVC seized the opportunity to visit the BUK Provost Prof. Tijjani Hassan Darma and briefed him about the recent courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Makie Taal and DVC (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad.
