This course aims at developing a basic understanding of ethical theory and the ability to think critically about the moral issues of business and professional life. We will learn about several major ethical theories and discuss issues of justice, social responsibility, and professional ethics. We will examine various topics in business ethics such as lying and bluffing, advertising, employee rights, affirmative action, sexual harassment, international business and environmental issues.

Emphasizing on monetary and macroeconomic relationships between countries, the course addresses both the theoretical and empirical issues pertaining to the following concepts: balance of payments, exchange rate regimes, foreign exchange market, sovereign debt crisis and management of a corporation in an international environment.

The subject areas that will be covered include understanding the definition and concept of marketing research, the role of marketing research in strategic planning, marketing research and database marketing, primary and secondary data sources, marketing research areas, designing the marketing research project/process, ethics in marketing research, and tools of preparing and analyzing the data. Emphasis will also be given on how to determine and evaluate the value of marketing research information, do sampling, scale measurements, qualitative and quantitative research, etc. Students will learn how to write marketing research report and present it as well.
