Master of Arts in Arabic Language Studies Research Admission Test Policy applies to:
- MA in Arabic (Research ) Applicants (who do not have a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and linguistics or did not study undergraduate level studies in Arabic medium)
Eligibility criteria to sit for the Admission Test
- An accredited Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language Studies or a relevant Honour’s degree or a relevant postgraduate certificate or diploma with less than 65% marks.;
- An accredited Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline other than Arabic Language and Linguistics, where the medium of instruction was not Arabic.
Exam Structure:
The Admission Test will be fully online.
Passing Grades Table:
Grade | Exemption |

55% and Above | Students are eligible to enroll into the MA in Arabic program. |
50-54% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic Program the student must study AMDB 401 and AMDB 402 courses at the IOU |
45-49% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic Program the student must study AMDB 301, AMDB 302, AMDB401 and AMDB 402 courses at the IOU |
40-44% | In order to be eligible to join MA in Arabic Program the student must study AMDB 201, AMDB 202, AMDB 301, AMDB 302, AMDB 401 and AMDB 402 courses at the IOU |
39% & below | Scoring below 40% renders the student ineligible for a direct admission to the master’s program. Depending on the results, the students may be directed to complete certain courses of Arabic Language |
