The Ministry of Higher Education and National Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency organized a one-day validation workshop for the newly introduced policy for students of Tertiary and Higher Education Institutions in the country on 14 July, 2026.

The policy aims at providing opportunities for students to bridge the gap between theory and practice and increase their employability after graduation.
According to the Minister for Higher Education, the workshop is not only introducing a new policy but is an effort to define the future of the Gambian graduates.
The workshop was well attended by academic institutions, TVet institutions, private sector and government agencies.
During his feedback the IOU DVC (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad, commended the effort of the Moherst and NAQAA for the excellent initiative and recommended that the policy be implemented in phases so as to ensure better outcomes.
