The International Open University Vice Chancellor Prof. Makie Taal is currently attending the 3rd Edition of the Positioning Your University for Global Visibility Workshop, taking place from 14–17 July 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. The workshop is jointly organized by the Association of African Universities (AAU) and KCA University, Kenya.

The event brings together university leaders, policymakers, researchers, and academic professionals committed to enhancing the global visibility and competitiveness of higher education institutions. It focuses on empowering university leaders and researchers to strengthen institutional branding, increase the visibility of research outcomes, enhance internationalization efforts, optimize digital research profiles and repositories, and build strategic global partnerships.

The knowledge and insights gained from this workshop will further support IOU's mission of positioning itself as a world leader in providing quality, affordable, and relevant higher education.
