Pic: The International Open University (IOU) Vice Chancellor Prof Makie Taal and IOU Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad paid a courtesy visit to the former Senior Special Assistant to the President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, Malam Garba Shehu at his residence in Abuja on 25 August 2026, and discussed the potential of the IOU in Nigeria.

Former SSA to the President Malam Garba Shehu honored the guests by giving a complimentary copy of his book titled "According to the President" which was published recently.

The lecture discussed about the International Open University, its mission and vision. The IOU DVC Prof. Aliyu Dahiru made some comments and translated the lecture in Hausa for the benefit of the congregation. A Question and Answer session was held after the lecture.
