During the closing ceremony of the capacity building workshop organized by the Islamic Development Bank and Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Agency, the International Open University Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad received an Award of Excellence for serving as a resource person. The award was handed to him by the Sa'in Kilgori who represented His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Alh. Muhammad Saad Abubakar, FCA, mni.
The capacity building workshop attracted participants from 18 West African Countries and resource persons from the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia, Uganda, The Gambia and Nigeria. The workshop will go a long way in repositioning Zakat and Waqf in African countries for effective socio-economic development.

During his speech, the IOU DVC conveyed the goodwill message of the IOU management and congratulated the organizers for the successful program.
