The International Open University (IOU) was invited to attend a 2-day validation workshop organized by The Gambia Research Network (GAMREN) between 29th and 30th April, 2026. IOU DVC (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad and Quality Assurance staff Mr. Dawda Ceesay represented IOU at the event.

The aim of the workshop was to validate the blueprint for providing network to institutions in The Gambia. It aims at providing common platforms for universities for network to enhance research capability by providing connectivity to their doorsteps. It also supports infrastructure while maintaining sovereignty of the institutions.
