Speech from the President of International Open University

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem!

Distinguished keynote speakers, research trainers, session chairs, esteemed scholars, delegates, and honored guests from across the globe - a very warm welcome to all of you. Asslamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu!

On behalf of the International Open University, The Gambia, it is my distinct honor and privilege to open the 8th International Conference on Integrated Sciences (8th ICIS) 2026. While our gathering today is virtual, the shared vision, intellect, and enthusiasm spanning across continents create a vibrant community of learning and discovery.

This year, our theme—"Transforming Knowledge through Innovation, Ethics, and Digital Excellence"—could not be more timely. As we navigate an era defined by rapid technological leaps, the academic world faces both a challenge and a responsibility: to ensure that innovation is guided by unwavering ethical principles and aimed at sustainable progress. Digital excellence must not merely be a tool for efficiency, but a bridge to expanding human potential and democratizing access to knowledge.

Over the next two days, this conference will serve as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary dialogue. We are proud to host over 130 research paper presentations, reflecting rigorous scholarship and fresh perspectives across diverse scientific domains.

Today marks a critical start to our proceedings. Following our opening session, we transition into the Research Colloquium, featuring an inspiring keynote address that will frame our intellectual direction. Furthermore, our dedicated Research Colloquium Workshop led by our expert research trainer will equip early-career scholars and seasoned researchers alike with practical methodology and analytical insight to elevate their scholarly work.

I encourage every participant to engage actively, challenge ideas constructively, and forge lasting collaborations across disciplines and borders. May the discussions held over these two days inspire new inquiries and practical solutions for the global good.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable intellectual journey. I wish you all an enriching, inspiring, and fruitful conference. Welcome to 8th ICIS!

Welcome to the 8th ICIS 2026, and I wish you every success throughout the conference. Thank you, Jazakumu Allah Khairan.
