Pic: The Founder of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo organized a dinner in honor of the International Open University (IOU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Makie Taal and IOU Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad on 27 August, 2026.

IOU had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU with MAAUN however, it has not been implemented. During their deliberations the officials discussed about the strategies that will lead to a mutual benefit. The founder of MAAUN, Nigeria who doubles as the Founder of other Universities in Niger Republic, Kaduna and Abuja indicated a strong interest to proceed with the collaboration to support educational development and growth of both institutions.
