IOU VC delivers session on Distance Learning at Islamic Forum of Nigeria Headquarters, Signs MOU

In an attempt to sensitize the community on the International Open University (IOU), the IOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Makie Taal supported by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) Prof. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad delivered a talk on the International Open University including its mission and vision, history and benefits to community on 26 August, 2026. Speaking on behalf of the Islamic Forum, the Executive Secretary Dalhatu M. Gwarzo profoundly thanked IOU for finding them worthy for the collaboration which borders around educational development of the community.

According to the IOU VC, the visitation to Nigeria was to promote IOU and seek for partners that share common vision with the university. He thanked the leadership of Islamic Forum of Nigeria which is based in Kano, for hosting the IOU team. This was followed by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions on 27 August, 2026.


In the same vein, the Management of Islah Consult and Training, neighboring Islamic Forum of Nigeria honored the Vice Chancellor by presenting him with a traditional leather carpet. The Managing Director A. Abba Usman thanked the IOU VC and welcomed him to their TVet accredited Center where young people are trained in various skills such as shoes and bags making, bedsheets, solar installation and repair, bakery and hospitality among others.
