IOU student at Computational Neuroscience Summer School, Carnegie Mellon University, Rwanda

Abdulwaliy Oyekunle from the IOU BSc Psychology Department, represented the International Open University at a Computational Neuroscience Summer School at Carnegie Mellon University, Rwanda.

The Trend CaMinA summer school brought together 20 graduate students and young researchers from across Africa to study computational neuroscience which aims to characterize brain operation using the language of mathematics, and to simulate its function using algorithmic principles. Like CMU-Africa, the goal is to have a transformative impact on future technology leaders through intense hands-on learning by globally renowned researchers and academics. The universities that participated include the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Institut Pasteur de Tunis - معهد باستور تونس , University of the Gambia, University of Khartoum, University of Gondar, University of Port Harcourt (Nigeria), International Open University, University of Nairobi, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Ibadan, Kyambogo University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi , University of Yaoundé Ié , Ecole nationale Superieure d'Informatique (ESI)(Algeria), The African Leadership University , University of Ghana, Carnegie Mellon University Africa and Brown University. This summer school was conducted in collaboration with CMU-Africa’s Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa and the Allen Institute.
