The International Open University (IOU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Makie Taal is currently attending the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Semi-Annual Meeting 2026 taking place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 29 April -1 May, 2026.

The event is a global gathering where university leaders, innovators, and partners come together to shape the future of higher education hosted by Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) – the largest social sciences and humanities university in Lithuania.

Under the theme “Resilient Minds, Innovative Pathways: Universities Leading Global Transformation,” the meeting's focus is on how universities can strengthen resilience, drive innovation, and create meaningful impact. From digital transformation and institutional agility to inclusive leadership and sustainability, the meeting will highlight the pathways that enable universities to lead confidently in the 21st century.
